What lands in your vault

One note, with the parts of an episode you already see in Podwise. This is how it reads in Obsidian.

  • Episode properties: podcast, date, length, link
  • Summary, key takeaways and Q&A
  • Outline, keywords and highlights
  • Transcript, grouped by chapter if you like
An example note. Content from Podwise's summary of “Doktoro Esperanto”, 99% Invisible.

Set it up once

Export the note, then keep it wherever you already think.

  1. 1

    Export the note

On a processed episode, open Export and choose Obsidian, or Markdown with the obsidian dialect.

  2. 2

    Save it in your vault

Drop the .md file into any folder Obsidian indexes — an inbox folder works well.

  3. 3

    Open and link it

The note arrives with properties and headings, ready for [[links]], tags and search.

  4. 4

    Re-export when it changes

A new translation, mind map or summary is a new file: export again and replace the old one.

What you can send

  • EpisodesSummary, takeaways, Q&A, outline, keywords, highlights and the transcript.
  • TranslationsWrite the note in the translated language, or keep both.
  • The obsidian dialectProperties at the top and headings below, so the note behaves like the rest of your vault.
  • From your own codeThe Open API exports Markdown with dialect set to obsidian, on Pro.

More integrations

Bring episodes in from where you listen; send notes to where you think.

Obsidian questions

Does Podwise sync to Obsidian?

No, and that is deliberate: Podwise writes a Markdown file and you choose where it lives. Your vault stays local and yours.

Where does the mind map go?

Mind maps export as XMind files. Obsidian can show them with a community plugin; the note links to the episode so you can also open it in Podwise.

Which dialect should I pick?

Obsidian. The same export menu also offers common Markdown and Logseq, if you move between apps.

Which plans include the export?

Exports need a subscription. Standard and Pro both include Save to Obsidian.
