Introduction
Welcome to the Podwise documentation. It covers the web app, the AI apps you can connect (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and others), the CLI, and the REST APIs.
What is Podwise?
Podwise turns podcast episodes into structured, AI-powered knowledge — transcripts, summaries, mind maps, Q&A, highlights, and Clips. You can read that in the web app, or let an AI assistant fetch it and work with it.
Which entry point should I use?
What do you need?
├ Read a podcast → Web app
├ Ask an AI app → Plugin
├ Run a script → CLI
└ Build a product → APIs| You want to… | Use this | Start here |
|---|---|---|
| Read, listen, and save Clips in a browser or on your phone | Web app and mobile apps | Quickstart: web app |
| Ask Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, or Codex about podcasts | The Podwise plugin, or the hosted MCP server | MCP Server |
| Load Podwise's workflows into an agent | The Podwise skill and plugin | Skills & Plugins |
| Run it from a terminal, a script, or a cron job | The podwise CLI | CLI |
| Build your own integration | Open API v1 | Open API v1 |
| Process your own audio at scale, with webhooks | Enterprise API v1 | Enterprise API v1 |
Two rules of thumb:
- If a person will read the result, use the web app. It needs no token and no install, and most popular episodes are already processed.
- If an AI app should do the work, install the plugin. It bundles the tools and the workflows in one step. Drop to the CLI or the API when the job has to run without a person.
The Open API, MCP server, and CLI require a Pro or Enterprise plan. Browsing, searching, and opening an episode that is already processed work without one.

AI Agent
What "AI agent" means here, and which of the three routes fits: the plugin and skill, the hosted MCP server, or the CLI. Read the overview.
MCP Server
Connect Podwise to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, Codex, or any remote MCP client — with the full tool list and example prompts. Connect an AI app.
CLI
Install the podwise command, sign in, and fetch summaries and transcripts from a script or an agent. Install the CLI.
Skills & Plugins

API reference
Open API v1
REST API available for Pro and Enterprise plans. Integrate podcast discovery, processing, summaries, transcripts, Clips, exports, and account automation into your own applications. Enterprise customers can use the same API access token across both API families. Read the API reference.
Enterprise API v1
Customer-provided audio processing API exclusively for enterprise customers. It supports episode processing, translation, file exports, webhooks, and more, using the same API access tokens as Open API. Read the Enterprise API guide.
